Dave Murray’s Latest weather disco…Thursday…December 15, 2016
.
More cold in play today and tonight…the coldest of this run…then all eyes on a western storm system as the pattern flips from the northwest flow to the southwest flow…Friday and into Saturday.
Lots of clouds on Friday but moisture will be hard to find…fighting a very dry air mass… into the 30’s on Friday…then a warm front will bow up and over us Friday night…a light mix of rain, sleet and freezing rain…light the key word and temps hanging around 32 degrees in the evening…then a slow rise overnight. Saturday…the storm system cuts to our west and north but just barely… but lets the warmer air in with a jump into the 40’s…even near 50 degrees…with rain…looking like a light rain event…until the system swings by the next arctic cold front…mid to late afternoon with sharply dropping temperatures…in 24 hours we will fall from 50 to 10 degrees…and with the drop…any limited moisture will kick over to snow…light snow…mid to late Saturday into Saturday evening…could be some small accumulations. The bigger feature Friday-Saturday-Sunday will be strong and gusty winds…a big factor Saturday and Saturday night with the arctic front. Sunday…a monster dome of arctic high pressure builds in…partly sunny…windy and bitter cold…the coldest of the season Sunday with wind chills below zero into Sunday night and Monday morning…just cold and dry Monday…then we start a slow warm up going into Christmas weekend.
