Dave Murray’s Latest weather disco…Friday…December 16, 2016
.
Here comes the next system over the Rockies and into the middle of the nation…not a lot in my thinking with this system or the track and the moisture and temperatures.
Lots of clouds on Friday but moisture will be hard to find…fighting a very dry air mass… into the 30’s on Friday…as a warm front lifts up and over the STL area…a light mix of rain, sleet and freezing rain…Friday night…very light…the dry air will battle the moisture and the Gulf is not open for play….rising temps overnight Friday night into Saturday with light rain…again not a lot of moisture to work with…mainly holding well to our north/northwest….the next arctic cold front…mid to late afternoon on Saturday with sharply dropping temperatures…in 24 hours we will fall from 50 to 10 degrees…and with the drop…any limited moisture will kick over to snow…light snow…mid to late Saturday into Saturday evening…I could see the ground getting covered…snow will be limited…but it will be wind driven…The bigger feature Saturday and Saturday night…will be strong and gusty winds…a big factor Saturday and Saturday night with the arctic front. Tough bitter wind chills with the dropping temps and with strong and gusty winds there could be some power outages Saturday night…not due to snow…due to wind….Sunday…a monster dome of arctic high pressure builds in…partly sunny…breezy and bitter cold…the coldest of the season Sunday with wind chills below zero into Sunday night and Monday morning…just cold and dry Monday…then we start a slow warm up going into Christmas weekend.
