Voit Drives in Three, Cardinals Beat Marlins 4-3

Luke Voit homered and drove in three runs and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Miami Marlins 4-3 on Thursday afternoon at Busch Stadium. Voit's second career home run traveled 446 into "Big Mac Land" to tie the game 1-1. Voit then knocked his second hit of the game off the right field wall in the third inning. That knock drove in two more runs to give the Redbirds a 3-2 lead. The Cardinals' eight hits backed another good outing from Michael Wacha (6-3), who allowed two runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out nine and walked  just two. The Cardinals bullpen was solid after Wacha, Quality relief outings by Matt Bowman, Brett Cecil and Seung Hwan Oh insured the victory. For Oh, it was his first save since June 21st.

Marcell Ozuna had three hits and three RBIs for the Marlins. Dee Gordon had two hits, scored three runs and stole two bases.
