Erika Tallan is thrilled to be a part of the Fox2 Team. She joined in January of 2016 co-anchoring the weekend evening news alongside Elliott Davis and reporting week day nights for the 9,10 and 11p.m.

As a Phoenix, Arizona native, Tallan is new to St. Louis, but not to the Midwest. After graduating from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, she accepted her first TV news job in Lincoln, Nebraska. It wasn’t long before Kansas City came calling. Before following the Missouri River east to St. Louis, Tallan reported and anchored at KCTV in Kansas City.

While at KCTV, Tallan was awarded a Mid-America Emmy for her report, “Get Out Alive,” which was a dramatic demonstration of escaping house fires. It was a story she felt compelled to tell after a string of house fires in the Kansas City viewing area claimed the lives of small children, the elderly and family members who raced back into the smoke and flames in a desperate attempt to rescue those trapped inside.

Some other highlights include covering the Kansas City Royals’ playoff race into the World Series, and being named Missouri Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Media Person of the Year for her work raising awareness and support for childhood cancers. Most recently, Tallan was awarded two first place Kansas Association of Broadcasters plaques for enterprise reporting and coverage of a single topic news event.

Tallan looks forward to experiencing all that the Gateway City has to offer with her husband, cheering on the Cardinals (and the Royals!), becoming a hockey fan and telling your stories.
