St. Louis School District Teacher’s Aide Charged With Molesting Disabled Student

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI – — A Sigel Elementary teacher’s aide was charged Wednesday with first degree child molestation, sexual contact with a student by a teacher, and first degree attempted child molestation.

DeJohn Cuneo, 66, was an Instruction Care Aide assigned to Sigel Elementary School in the St. Louis Public School District.

Cuneo was caught by another employee allegedly molesting a 4-year-old developmentally disabled student. Cuneo claims he was helping the male student go to the bathroom, but the boy’s father said his son does not need help doing so.

Cuneo is charged in two incidents that happened at Sigel Elementary school this past October.

Both incidents involved improper contact with four year old boys. The school employee allegedly witnessed the sexual encounters on October 18 2011.

A statement from the St. Louis Public School District will be released later today.
