If you or your family is on a limited income, there's a group that may do your taxes for free and make sure you get all the credits coming to you.

The Gateway Earned Income Tax Credit Community Coalition detailed their program Friday morning.

Organizers say if your household makes $50,000 or less, you can qualify for the free tax help and possibly the earned income tax credit.

Tax experts say the credit is critical for a lot of families and too many people don't take advantage of it.

"It's extremely important. Some of our families that we serve every year, 20 to 25% of their annual income is coming from this credit so it makes a big difference in their income," said Russ Signorino, the executive director of the coalition.

Among the leaders at Friday morning's event,St. LouisMayor Francis Slay and St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley.
