Wood River Police Shoot Stolen Car Suspect

The Illinois State Police are investigating a police-involved shooting in Wood River, IL. Authorities say a Wood River officer shot a person suspected of driving a stolen vehicle. It happened just after 10 a.m. on Harnett just off Wood River Avenue.

Illinois State Police say the Wood River officer at some point felt threatened by the driver and fired a shot, hitting the driver. He was taken to an area hospital. It is unclear if the vehicle was actually stolen.
