The Major Case Squad has been called in to investigate a shooting that left two people dead in Overland, Missouri. The victims, a man and a woman, were standing in front of a home in the 9900 block of Baltimore when the shooting happened.

Overland Police Chief Michael Laws says the shooting happened just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The victims were in front of a home when someone fired several shots, hitting the two. Officers arrived to find bullet casings all over the scene. Police called in extra manpower to help investigate.

"This is the actually the borderline between St. Ann, and Breckinridge, and Overland.  There were several agencies that were here helping us out trying to secure the scene, and look for witnesses.  I know St. John was assisting and Breckinridge was here," said Chief Laws.

The case has been handed over to detectives from the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. Authorities are searching for a suspect.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
