A man is accused of raping two teenage girls at his Jefferson County apartment.

Crystal City police call 29-year-old Brian Syberg a predator.

Crystal City Detective Mike Purneau said, “I believe there are more victims out there and he is a predator.”

Police say Syberg had contact with countless teens in the Crystal City- Festus area.

“I think he be-friended younger females, 15 to 16 year olds in the general area and they would bring their friends and he would allow them to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol,” said Det. Purneau.

And when they had too much, that’s when police say Syberg would target his victims.

The first teen reported the rape in early December. Police launched an investigation. Then a second 14-year-old girl said she was attacked on February 4th.

On Monday, Syberg was arrested and made some shocking statements.

“During my interview with him he told me he was their guardian when they were at his house,” said Det. Purneau.

Syberg is now charged with two counts of statutory rape and one count of focible compulsion.

Police say additional rape and child pornogrphy charges could soon be filed.

“He admitted to me that there were photographs on his phone but he had erased them of a nude 16 year old female,” said Det. Purneau.

Brian Syberg is in custody and is being held without bond.
