Man Convicted In O’Fallon, IL Robbery And Kidnapping Sentenced

Convicted kidnapper and robber Carey L. Breshers, 52, of Oklahoma, was sentenced on Monday, February 6, 2012, to more than 30 years in prison. He was given 293 months’ imprisonment on each of two counts of Kidnaping, and 240 months’ imprisonment for Interference with Commerce by Robbery, by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.

Breshers was also sentenced to 5 years supervised release to follow imprisonment, a $300 special assessment, and ordered to make restitution in the amount of $44,618.50.Breshers was also sentenced to 121 months’ imprisonment by a federal district court in Kansas.

On Oct. 26, 2010, Breshers robbed and abducted two female employees of a payday loan business at gunpoint in O’Fallon, Illinois. He eventually dropped the two women off unhurt in St. Louis at Interstate 44 and Jefferson.

Breshers was arrested on October 31, 2010, in Topeka, Kansas, after committing another robbery.
