With campaign 2012 in full swing, Missouri finds itself with one of the most-watched  U.S. Senate races in the country. Incumbent Senator Claire McCaskil (D-MO) will run for re-election and Republicans have made it clear that one of their chief goals in congressional races nationwide is to defeat her.

There are three main candidates for the republican nomination: Congressman Todd Akin and former Missouri state treasurer Sarah Steelman, and the third is St. Louis County businessman and Marine Corps veteran John Brunner. He’s head of Vijon, which makes Germ-X hand sanitizer, but he is a novice in politics.
