Crash Kills One, Causes Power Outage

An early morning crash near Fenton has claimed the life of a driver. It happened just before 1 a.m. at Valley Park Road and Ceasar Drive.  St. Louis County Police got the call around 12:48 a.m. When they arrived, they found the driver, identified as Michael C. Delatte, 21, who lived in the Fenton area. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Delatte was a 2008 graduate of Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton. The victim lived with his family in Fenton. He leaves behind a younger and older brother.

The driver hit a power pole during the crash which knocked out power to over 1,500 customers. Ameren MO has since restored power to most of those customers.
