Bank Employee Accused of Stealing $30,000 from Business Account

An employee of an Edwardsville bank is facing charges of stealing more than $30,000 from a bank client. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department says Jamie Gajewski, 29, of Edwardsville, took the money from a business account at First National Bank of Staunton in Holiday Shores.

A business in rural Edwardsville tipped off the Madison County Sheriff’s Department about the possible theft that had occurred over a twelve month period between January 2011 and January 2012.

Gajewski is charged with felony theft over $10,000. She posted cash bond and has been released from Madison County Jail in Edwardsville.
