Police Arrest Four in Credit Card Theft Ring

The St. Peters Police Department has arrested four people and recovered hundreds of stolen credit cards breaking up a credit card theft ring. Police say the four were arrested after officers responded to a Wal-Mart on Jungerman Road for suspicious activity. Police say the four males were pulled over not far from the store and found to be in possession of 60 stolen credit cards and $10,000 worth of merchandise and gift cards. A search of the hotel room the suspects were staying in found more than 200 stolen credit cards and $50,000 in merchandise purchased with the cards.

The four charged are Jose Castano Plumeda, Martin Mendoza-Padilla, Mario Ibarra-Garcia of Mexico and Julio Chiquete-Almanza of Arizona.  All four are charged with Forgery and Receiving Stolen Property. Bond is set at $100,000 each.
