Woman Killed In Crash With Trash Truck

BRIDGETON, MO (KTVI) - Investigators say just before 7 a.m. Thursday, a silver sedan was heading south on St. Charles Rock Road and for some reason crossed the center line and collided head on with an Allied Waste Trash truck that was heading north on the Rock Road.

The female driver of the car was pronounced dead on the scene. The trash truck driver was not hurt.

The crash happened basically right in front of the Allied Waste office at a time when a lot people were going to work. Investigators say there were a lot of witnesses.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation.

St. Charles Rock Road was closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the scene.
