The Saint Louis University Billikens fought the top seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament for forty minutes before finally losing to Michigan State 65-61. The Billikens nearly overcame a 13 point second half deficit. They cut that lead to just two points after Kwamain Mitchell’s layup made the score 53-51 Michigan State. But the Billikens would get no closer.
Mitchell was the Billikens leading scorer in the 3rd round game of the NCAA Tournament with 13 points. SLU finishes their season with a 26-8 record.
