Cardinals Hit 4 Home runs, pound the Brewers 11-5

The Cardinals are off to a 2-0 start in the 2012 baseball season with an 11-5 pounding of the Brewers on Friday in Milwaukee spoiling their home opener. Yadier Molina, Carlos Beltran, Matt Holliday and David Freese all homered in the Cardinals victory. Beltran’s and Holliday’s home runs came on successive pitches in the third inning.

Rafael Furcal had three hit and one RBI in the win. The Cardinals as a team pounded out 16 hits against Brewers pitching. Jaime Garcia pitched six innings to get the win. He allowed two runs while striking out three.
