CREVE COEUR, MO (KTVI) - At Covenant House/CHAI Apartments in Creve Coeur Friday night, a huge celebration of Passover was underway for residents and family. Erin Whitham organized the event.
“It’s exciting because it’s a lot of work. It’s also very hectic to get a dinner ready for a 140 people,” said Whitham.
The community has been hosting a traditional Cedar dinner for 40 years. Resident Tammy Kalyman appreciated the hard work.
“The fact that they have gone through all the trouble of putting this together for us… you know how much work it is and they are so nice to us,” she explained.
Resident Ben Feldman is celebrating his 101st Passover.
“Yeah I`m proud of our youth. The younger generation all participating in all our holidays and cedar and keeping the religion going you know.”
Feldman says it’s about teaching the youth of today to lead for tomorrow.
