(KTVI)-- Jennings High School students partied their way to success on the E.O.C standardized test. The kids studied hard after watching a rap video, produced by their teachers, on YouTube.
Three young men are dancing in front of the school reciting words from their teachers.
"Hustle, hustle, hustle. Hard. Study, study, study. Hard."
What would make these kids so hyped right before a standardized test? The stars in a YouTube rap video are Jennings High School teachers. They promoted readiness for the end of course, or E.O.C. test. The song 'Hustle Hard for the E.O.C.' was the brainchild of an English teacher.
"Bencia Nanez is the one that had this epiphany to do this rap video,' said Jessica Young.
Young and two other science teachers, Sherry Wibben and Karen Thompson, pump their fists and rock with the groove. They rub Young`s protruding belly while rapping about two methods of biological reproduction.
"Closed minds don't learn in biology. Mitosis and meiosis ain't the same thing homie. One is makin' babies. The other makin' copies."
In case you needed to know, meiosis involves the pregnant belly.
"We came up with the words,' Wibbing said. 'We came up with the places where we wanted to do the representation we wanted to make. We did it ourselves."
Young disputed tabloid rumors she is pregnant so soon in her music career.
"No. I am not,' she laughed. 'It was just a globe underneath a lab apron."
And thanks to this most recent YouTube sensation, the kids are not the only ones getting these basic concepts. Some of the parents are ready to take the standardized test, too. Thompson remembered a day she ran into a parent who worked at the local post office.
"She said, 'Closed minds don't learn in biology!' Thompson smiled. She is just blown away by the students` excitement.
Jessica Young is married to videographer Tom Young of mike martin media. The firm shot the video for free. Teachers and students worked to get 25,000 hits on YouTube in five days.
