RED BUD, Ill. (KTVI)-- We will find out Wednesday morning who won one-third of the world record setting Mega Millions jackpot.  The person will be presented with a check at the Red Bud, Illinois Village Hall at 10 a.m.

Folks in Red Bud are excited to finally find out who the winner is, and who will win a $218 million dollar share of the jackpot.  Jim Oakley, a customer at the Office Restaurant and Bar said, “I’d like to see him give some to charity maybe some back to the community.”  Gladys Oakley added, “I think it’s a local and if it is I think it’s wonderful that it’s a local.”

Lottery officials will only say it was one person who won and that the ticket has been confirmed.  No other information is being released.  The editor of the local newspaper Mary Koester said, “Oh my gosh, this is so exciting, I think the biggest thing to happen in Red Bud.”

At the Moto Mart, where the winning ticket was sold, the clerk says everyday customers have asked if the winner came forward.  It appears there will be a big sigh of relief when that happens.

Darla Beckette an assistant manager said, “I think it’s awesome I’ll be happy to find out myself who it is.”
