Fairview Heights Man Arrested For Molotov Cocktail Thrown At Federal Building

ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – A Fairview Heights, Illinois man has been arrested for allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at the Robert A. Young Federal Building in downtown St. Louis.  Jeremiah Merello McGee, 33, is charged with attempted destruction of United States property by fire or explosion.

Guards saw a man thrown an object at the federal building around 1:00 a.m. Monday.  That object exploded, causing a brief fire.  The fire did minor damage to the building and scorched the wall and sidewalk.

McGee faces up to 20 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines if convicted.
