CHICAGO, IL (KTVI) – The first images of Illinois Senator Mark Kirk are released since his stoke earlier this year.

His doctor says the Senator is fully engaged in all aspects of his rehabilitation. He has walked more than 10 miles in total since arriving in February.

He is even meeting with his staff nearly every day to discuss policy issues and current events.

Kirk will also be taking part in a unique research trial focused on improving walking patterns.

He’s expected to make a full recovery and have limited motion on the left side of his body.
