COLLINSVILLE, IL (KTVI) -- The Major Case Squad has made an arrest in the suspicious death investigation of Russell O. Miller.  Police had found the body of Miller on Monday, April 23rd in a home in Collinsville, on St. Clair Court. Thursday, April 26th Miller's roommate Timothy J. Hillyer, 49 years old was arrested for the death of Russell Miller.

Hillyer has been charged with two counts of Concealment of a Homicidal Death, a felony.  His bond has been set at $250,000.  Hillyer is expected to be arraigned this afternoon at the St.Clair County Courthouse.  Additional charges maybe filed in the case.

The body of Russell O. Miller, 55, was found behind a shed at his home Monday.  One of Miller`s neighbors said she went to the residence Saturday evening to borrow gasoline and she smelled a foul odor.  Neighbor Tammy Mertzke said, "I went up to the porch door and smelled something and I didn`t think a lot about it."

Two days later Miller`s body was discovered.  Neighbor Pricilla O`Bryan said, "It`s a shame that he laid there that long, feel bad about that. He was kind of off to himself."

She said Miller`s only source of transportation was a bicycle.  His dog Lexi has been taken in by a nearby family.  They said Miller was very attached to the dog. Mertzke said, "For Russ to be gone one or two days maybe with Lexi home was normal but a week or two weeks to go by and Lexi not being tended to that was not normal."
