ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – The city of St. Louis is switching it’s e-mail provider to Google.  They have been having trouble with delays, outages and attachments.  Employees complained that their old service did not work well with mobile devices and computers outside of the network.  Now, in an effort to fix the system and cut costs they have switched to Google’s cloud based service.

This move was made after evaluating competitive bids to install a new e-mail system.  They chose Google because it is a reliable, secure and cost effective system.  Many city employees already use gmail as their primary home e-mail so the switch should be easy.

The Datson Corporation (a Google Apps reseller) will complete the migration in the next few months.
