ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Author Sean Connolly makes problem-solving fun for middle-schoolers. His word problems are make math interesting by taking creative subjects and encouraging readers to dig in.  One example is,"How many months would it take a single vampire to completely take over a town of 500,000 people?"

Many of the problems deal with do or die situations where kids can use their imaginations and math skills to escape.
