Mixed Martial Artists To Fight For Our Troops

DOWNTOWN, ST. LOUIS(KTVI)---UFC Veteran and World MMA Champion Jermaine Andre is bringing a big MMA, kickboxing fight night to St. Louis. The event called 'A Fight For Our Troops' will raise money for two charities that support veterans. Mission Continues and The Wounded Warrior Project.

Both organizations continue to  honor and empower wounded warriors of the United States Armed Forces    The event will honor and empower wounded warriors .  The organizations also extended a helping hand to encourage warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs. Offering a variety of programs and services, they are equipped to serve warriors with every type of injury – from the physical to the invisible wounds of war.

Organizers of the Mission Continues and  The  Wounded Warrior Project say as the number of wounded steadily increases; it is easy to see how the needs of the brave individuals also increase.

Bo Kunz is fighting in the main event. His 80-year - old grandfather was a MIA/POW in the Korean War.   .

Kunz say he’s participating in the Fight for our Troops night because he is inspired by his grandfather’s courage and all of the brave men and women who have served this country.

Spectators will have an opportunity to see the fighters in the cage show a little sweat, an occasional tear, discipline, motivation, and display the warrior skills that are great to soldiers.

The Fight for Our Troops 10 action packed MMA Cage Fights and kick boxing matches to support veterans and local charities will be held Saturday May 12 at  the Community Needs Expo  at 7:00 p.m. at the America's Center in Downtown St. Louis.
