SPRINGFIELD, IL (KTVI)-The full Illinois Senate has voted to end the perk that lets lawmakers give free scholarships to whoever they want.  The bill ending the perk now goes to the Illinois House for a vote. House Speaker Michael Madigan has said he supports ending this deal. Governor Pat Quinn says he'll sign the bill ending the perk when it gets to his desk

This is a deal long criticized by You Paid For It, Governor Quinn, the Department of Education, and even some legislators themselves.  It cost Illinois colleges and universities $13 Million Dollars last year alone in lost revenue.
