The Cardinals road trip to California was just shy of a disaster.  They lost four games and three players to the disabled list.  Sunday night it was a home run by Scott Van Slyke that helped the Dodgers complete the weekend sweep, 6-5.  Van Slyke is the son of the former Cardinal Andy Van Slyke.  The Dodgers overcame a 5-2 lead by the Cardinals.  The Redbirds have lost 8 of their last 10 games and now only lead the Reds by a half game.   The Cards host the San Diego Padres on Monday night at Busch.

During the road trip the Cardinals lost Lance Berkman, Allen Craig and Kyle McClellan to the disabled list. Jon Jay and Chris Carpenter were already on the DL.
