COLLINSVILLE, IL (KTVI)– The former Illinois state trooper who killed two Collinsville sisters in a 2007 accident is again asking for workers’ comp benefits.

Matt Mitchell was driving his car at speeds topping 125 miles per hour while using a cell phone and laptop computer.

The crash killed Jessica and Kelli Uhl and injured another family from Fayetteville.

Mitchell was denied benefits in February of 2011, but he appealed. That appeal was heard Wednesday afternoon.
