The big Memorial Day weekend racing doubleheader featured two well run races on Sunday. Dario Franchitti was his third Indianapolis 500. It was the 96th running of the great Indianapolis open wheel race, run in near record heat. Scott Dixon finished second, with Tony Kanaan coming in third place.

On the Sprint Cup circuit, the nightcap of the big racing day, Kasey Kahne won the Coca-Cola 600. It’s Kahne’s third career win in the 600 mile race. Kahne held off Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch for the victory. Danica Patrick finished 30th, but it was her best finish in Sprint Cup racing.
