(CNN) - Here's a frightening discovery; terrorists could bring down a plane without ever boarding it and without using a bomb.  They could do it all with a cyber-attack.
Two Cambridge experts have discovered a 'back door' in a computer chip used in military aircraft and passenger planes like the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The 'back door' access could allow hackers to take over the plane's systems via the internet.

The researchers say an attacker could disable all the security on the chip, reprogram access keys or permanently damage the device.  That same computer chip is also used in medical, automotive, communications and consumer products.
