ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI)-- It was a graduation surprise that a St. Charles family won't ever forget. A Timberland High School graduate was surprised by his brother who is an Army specialist who has been stationed in Germany for the past year.

Andre Domino is two years older than his brother Antonio Domino, Jr. It was so important to him to be here to see his younger brother graduate, that he was willing to lie and disappoint Antonio, telling him he couldn't make it, in order to make this surprise the best graduation present ever.

Antonio called his brother repeatedly in Germany to plead with him to find a way to come back home to watch him receive his high school diploma.

Andre said it broke his heart to have to lie and let him down, but it was all for the good of the surprise.

Their proud mom, Alice Domino, was in on the idea when Andre discovered from his sergeants that he was awarded a two-week leave to come home.

Andre arrived in town Wednesday and has been kept out of sight from Antonio by staying with his uncle.

Both older brother and the stunned graduate agree the surprise was worth it.
