(NEW YORK (KTVI)-Mets starting pitcher R.A. Dickey, known for his knuckleball, handcuffed the Cardinals on Saturday, shutting them out 5-0. It’s the second straight shutout for the Mets after Friday night’s Johan Santana’s shutout and no-hitter. Dickey pitched the complete game shutout baffling the Cardinals all game long. The Redbirds did manage to get seven hits in the game. Cardinals starting pitcher Lance Lynn last only four and two-thirds innings allowing three runs. He took the loss, just his second of the season to go with his team leading eight wins.

The Mets offense was led by David Wright. He had two hits, including his sixth home run of the season. For the Cardinals, it’s their fourth straight loss. Cincinnati won their game Saturday night, 12-9 at Houston. So the Reds have now opened a three and a half game lead over the Cardinals.
