Saturday was a big day for St. Louis area high school baseball, softball and soccer teams. State Championships were on the line and the St. Louis teams fared very well.

In high school baseball held in Springfield, MO on Saturday, Rockwood Summit came from behind and beat Parkway North 4-3 to win the Missouri Class 4 Baseball Championship. The Falcons trailed 3-1 but scored one run in the sixth inning and two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to walk off with the title. It’s the first baseball state championship in school history for Summit.

In the Class 3 Baseball Championship, it was a repeat performance for the Westminster Wildcats. The 2011 Champions repeated with a 10-4 win over Lutheran South. Westminster scored seven 1st inning runs and never looked back in beating Lutheran South for the third time this season. Westminster finished their year with 26 consecutive wins.

On the soccer fields on Saturday in Kansas City, it was a clean sweep for St. Louis schools. In Class 3, Cor Jesu beat Lee’s Summit North to win the championship in Girls Soccer.

The Class Two Girls Soccer Championship was an all St. Louis game with St. Dominic beating Rosati-Kain 1-0. It’s the third state title for the girls of St. Dominic.

And in Class 1, again another all St. Louis matchup. The St. Pius of Festus girls knocked off Principia 3 to 1 to win the State Championship.

One more state championship was decided on Saturday, this one on the softball field in Peoria, Illinois. The girls from Nashville beat Williamsville 6 to 2 to win the Illinois Class 2 Girls Softball Championship.
