Preliminary Hearing Set For Clay Waller
JACKSON, Mo. (AP) _ A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 25 for Clay Waller, the southeast Missouri man accused of killing his estranged wife.
Waller’s arraignment was Monday in Jackson. The Southeast Missourian (http://bit.ly/LgdJNM ) reports that Cape Girardeau County Circuit Judge Gary Kamp set the preliminary hearing date and assigned Waller’s case to the public defender’s office.
Waller is charged with first-degree murder even though the body of Jacque Waller has never been found. The 39-year-old mother was last seen alive on June 1, 2011. The case has drawn national attention.
The couple was in the process of getting a divorce. Their triplets, now 6 years old, are living with Jacque Waller’s sister.
Waller is already serving a five-year prison sentence for threatening his wife’s sister.
