O'FALLON, MO (KTVI)-- A 7th grade math teacher from Fort Zumwalt West Middle School is arrested for having child porn.

District Superintendent Dr. Bernard DuBray says Matt Hansen, 38, was charged with Possession of Child Pornography.

He was arrested Monday morning during a suicide attempt in Van Buren County, Iowa.

Police said he had climbed a cellular tower and was threatening to jump.  Sheriff's deputies talked him down and he was arrested on a warrant from Missouri.

DuBray said he was notified last week that police had found child pornography at Hansen's home in Winfield in Lincoln County.

Dr. Dubray says police don't believe any district students were connected to the child pornography.  Hansen has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.  The superintendent says that means Hansen cannot come on any campus in the Fort Zumwalt School District.

He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a police investigation.

Hansen has been with district since 2006 teaching math at Fort Zumwalt West Middle School.
