Holliday, Craig and Wainwright lead Cards to 8-2 Win in K.C.

For the second straight day, the Cardinals offense put up big numbers with an 8-2 win Saturday afternoon in Kansas City over the Royals. Saturday’s 16 hit Cardinals onslaught was fueled by four hits from Matt Holliday and 2 RBI. Allen Craig had two hits and 3 RBI, including his 9th home run of the season. It was a two run shot that gave the Cardinals a 7-2 lead in the 7th inning,

Adam Wainwright pitched seven strong innings allowing just two runs while striking out four to get his sixth with of the season. The victory keeps the Cardinals three games back of NL Central division leading Cincinnati.

Lance Lynn will pitch on Sunday as the Cards go for the sweep of the Royals.
