FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO (KTVI)-- Fire departments area wide are asking individuals not to set off their own fireworks this 4th of July because of extraordinarily dry conditions.

But despite those warnings, no jurisdiction where fireworks are legal has made any moves to stop the sale of fireworks.

Both Franklin and St. Charles counties, for example have warned residents it's too dry to set off fireworks, but haven't stopped sales.

Area fire departments are gearing up, just in case any fireworks Tuesday night or tomorrow get out of control.
