(KTVI) – The body of Roger Dale Gaedike was found in the Cuivre River by a civilian search group at 10:25 a.m. Friday.  The Lincoln County Coroner confirmed the man’s identity.  The family has been notified.

The private search group said several people, including firefighters, had previously searched the exact location where the body was found.

Due to water depth and conditions, it is possible the man’s body was not visible until just recently.

Authorities say Roger Dale Gaedike of O’Fallon, Missouri went missing around 4 a.m. Wednesday.  He told friends he was going searching for arrowheads near the Cuivre River.

Family members found Gaedike’s vehicle Thursday morning and called authorities.

Firefighters on the ground, in ATVs and two helicopters searched more than five square miles for Gaedike Thursday.
