Heat Advisory Extended Through Sunday

ST. LOUIS , MISSOURI ( KTVI)- A heat advisory has been extended through 7 PM on Sunday, July 8th. along and south of I-70 is both Missouri and Illinois. Highs Sunday will be in the upper 90°s, but with higher humidity, heat index values will be between 100° and 105°.

The effects of excessive heat are cumulative. Take extra precautions if you must work or spend time outside. Reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or evening hours. Know the signs and symptoms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion. Wear light and loose fitting clothing. Drink plenty of water and avoid alcoholic beverages.

People in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area can get information about cooling centers or energy assistance by calling the United Way at 2-1-1 or Cool Down St. Louis at 314-241-7668.
