CHARLACK, MO (KTVI)– FOX 2 first broke story of corruption investigation in Sept. 2011.

Jim Beekman faces four felony counts including three counts of stealing and one count of a public servant acceding to corruption.

One of the felony stealing counts involves more than $25,000 of Social Security Beekman allegedly accepted, but did not need.  The corruption count involves a reported improper loan loan.

FOX 2 first broke the story of a Missouri Highway Patrol corruption investigation, last September.  Councilman Chris Brun, at the time, reported that the Mayor was punishing him for blowing the whistle.

The month after our report, Beekman resigned as Mayor, stating health concerns.

Charlack is the city known for pointing a speed camera down on I-170.  The city perched the camera on the Lackland overpass.
