ARNOLD, MO. (KTVI) - A vigil was held Tuesday night after the funeral services for Fox High School band director Matthew Rice.  He died suddenly last Thursday, after becoming ill at his home.  The community also mourned the death of Mitchell Maserang, an Arnold student killed by a train.

Hundreds of his students attended the service at fox high school.
Rice was 37-years-old, beloved band director, whose abrupt death has left his family, friends and students heartbroken.

The double dose of grief for this community ended with a vigil the ended just after 10:00 pm.

Songs were played and candles were lit, as family friends and students gathered at Fox High School to share memories of 37 year old band teacher Matthew Rice and the loss of Mitchell Maserang a 15 year old sophomore, who died while walking on a set of train tracks while wearing earbuds on July First. Both lives lost in the same week, a tragic loss for the school and community.
