Man Shot for Bus Money on Washington Avenue

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – One man was shot along Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis early Monday morning. Now the search is on for the suspect. The victim is expect to survive and investigators are calling this a random attack.

It happened as the victim was waiting for the bus at Washington and 6th Street. Investigators say a 37 year old man was sitting at the bus stop when another man came up and demanded his bus fare.

The victim refused and took off running. That’s when police say the suspect shot the man in the left groin. The suspect took off running.  The victim was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 30 to 32 years old. He’s 5’8″ to 5’10 and weighs between 190 and 200 pounds. Police say he was wearing blue jeans and a red shirt.
