(KTVI) - In the heat of the summer you want something tasty and frosty to sip.  The Fountain on Locust serves up some chilly ideas to cool off.

The Fountain On Locust's Cool Ice Cream Drinks


4-5 scoops Lemon Sherbet
Lemon Lime Soda (1/2 cup or more to taste)

Blend together until desired consistency. Pour into tall glass; Garnish w/fresh mint.


2 cups Cubed Watermelon
1/2 cup Lemon Sherbet

Blend Watermelon until liquid -add Lemon Sherbet and blend until smooth. YUM!!


1/4 cup Strawberry Syrup (see below*)
Seltzer water
2 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream

Put a little Seltzer Water in glass then pour in Strawberry Syrup.  Mix gently to avoid breaking the bubbles!  Add scoops of best quality Vanilla Ice Cream.

*Strawberry syrup can be purchased or made at home from scratch using 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries cut and cooked with 1 cup Sugar and 1 Cup water -boil down until thickened and strain juice into jar.  Other berries can be used in the same manner.
