ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to close all lanes and ramps of westbound Interstate 64 between Broadway and 21st Street Tuesday and Wednesday nights.  The closures are part of the ongoing construction on the bridge deck downtown on the elevated highway.  The closures Tuesday and Wednesday nights will allow MoDot to shift lanes onto the newly repaved section of the interstate.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, crews will close traffic at 8:30 p.m. and re-open the interstate at 4 a.m. the following morning.  During the closure, ramps at 10th and 14th Streets will be open to westbound traffic only to enable Cardinals fans to get home after the games on those nights.

MoDot also advises motorists at the conclusion of the work, westbound vehicles will now be driving in the left lanes and the right lane will be closed.  The detour to avoid the construction zone altogether is to take westbound I-44 to Jefferson and then back to I-64.
