Cal Ripken’s Mother Safe After Being Abducted at Gunpoint

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Baseball great, Cal Ripken’s mother is safe and sound  after being abducted at gunpoint.  74-year-old, Violet Ripken, was taken from her home in Maryland on Tuesday morning and forced into a 1998 Lincoln town car. She was found early Wednesday morning, at a location that is not being released at this time.  Police say Mrs. Ripken is being interviewed and evaluated by medical personnel, but appears to be unharmed.

Cal Ripken is known in St Louis as the face behind Energizer’s “Keep Going” campaign, that honors people who make a difference in their communities.
