ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– A significant St. Louis company reveals major plans for new jobs and economic growth in our area.

Wells Fargo Advisors announced Friday it is bringing 400 jobs to its St. Louis headquarters over the next three years.

The expansion means the company will invest $33 million in renovations to its downtown location.

About half of the jobs will be newly created positions.

Governor Jay Nixon was on hand for the announcement at Wells Fargo Advisors headquarters.

“These are good jobs. This is a good responsible company that has a solid opportunity to help us move forward economically.  So both from a national and international perspective as well as locally, this is a significant movement forward for the region,” said Nixon.

The jobs will pay an average of $59,000 a year.

Wells Fargo received more than $12.5 million in tax credits from the state for the expansion.
