Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday This Weekend
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The state of Missouri is holding it’s annual back-to-school sales tax holiday this weekend. The holiday starts this Friday and runs through Sunday August, 5th. According to Missouri department of revenue items like clothing, school supplies, computers, and other items are exempt from sales tax for this time period only.
The sales tax discount is available for all items under $100 in clothing, less than $50 in school supplies, $350 in software, less than $3,500 in computers and devices. You can purchase multiple items and still receive the tax discount. The discount applies to all items purchased that are under the price threshold. So, if you purchase 10 pairs of jeans that are $75 then the discount is available for all of the jeans purchased.
The individual item prices cannot be more than the minimum set by the state.
