MEHLVILLE, MO (KTVI)-Throughout the month of July, Steel and Ink Studio has been hosting a benefit for Our Lady's Inn, an emergency shelter for pregnant women and homeless mothers. The tattoo and body piercing studio in St. Louis called its benefit "Inkin’ for the Inn” and a portion of the proceeds from tattoos, piercings, t-shirt sales, and jewelry purchases are going directly to the charity.

Brandie Morton is Steel & Ink Studio’s co-owner. She explains, “I definitely wanted to support those single mamas.  They're very important and need lots and lots of help.”

Our Lady’s Inn provided almost 23,000 nights of care to women, children and their babies in 2011.

Sheri Cullen got a new tattoo to help the cause.

“It was originally going to be six inches now it's going to be ten to eight.  And it's all for charity?  Yes, and that's fine with me cause I get to take it home,” said Cullen.

Connie Eller is with Our Lady’s Inn. They are thrilled with the month-long benefit.

“Whenvener people take the time out to really care about others and share their resources, especially in tough economic times, then everyone gets better,” said Eller.
