1 Dead & 76 Infected In Missouri Salmonella Outbreak

SPRINGFIELD, MO (KTVI) – The CDC reports that human Salmonella Montevideo infections linked to live poultry have been reported in 22 states. Overall there have been 76 people infected with the same strain of Salmonella Montevideo. Seven of those people have been hospitalized. One death occurred in Missouri.

The infections all trace back to live baby poultry from Estes Hatchery in Springfield, Missouri.
